We are proud to introduce the Brewer Exchange Progam, a brewer-to-brewer collaboration celebrating the shared passion, craftsmanship, and community that connects brewers around the world.
In partnership with Kataoka (Rahr Malting Co.’s distributor in Japan), RahrBSG is inviting North American craft brewers to submit their vision for beer brewed with Rahr Malt, to be poured at the 2027 Japan Brewers Cup and Craft Brewers Conference. One brewery will be selected to represent North America in a brewing collaboration that spans continents, cultures, and brewing traditions.
The selected brewer will be paired with a Japanese brewery nominated by Kataoka. Together, you’ll refine a shared vision for the recipe, and then host your Japanese colleagues for a collaboration brew day. The packaged beer will be shipped to Tokyo to pour at the Japan Brewers Cup in February 2027 – RahrBSG will fly two representatives from the North American brewery to attend the show and return the visit to their Japanese counterparts.
Then the story continues back home, where the collaboration beer will be served at RahrBSG’s booth at CBC 2027 in San Antonio.
This is about more than competitions, though: it’s about building connections, sharing ideas, and proving that great brewing transcends borders.
How to Enter:

- Come up with a proposal (general sketch or a detailed recipe) for the beer you want to brew with Rahr malt.
- Submit your idea along with a pitch explaining why you’d like to represent North American craft brewers in this collaboration via the form below.
The chosen brewery will be notified in early October 2026.
